U8 Mites
LEAGUE
Our U8 Mite teams compete in the Valley Hockey League which feature teams that range from AAA to A level competition to ensure the best competitive experience for our players and teams.
The program is design as the building blocks for our players hockey career with focus on skating, hockey skills, and game play in a balanced fun and competitive environment.
Ages
U8 Mites are open to any player in birth years 2018 and younger
It is recommended for players ages 6 and older, younger players can be considered for participation.
Games
U8 Mites Travel teams games are almost all played on the weekends.
U8 Mites Travel teams play a cross-ice game
Season Schedule
The Season starts the last week in August and runs through Mid-March.
Teams will receive at least 40 practices during the season at the Civic Center. Our goal is for 1 to 2 times per week at 5:30 or 6:30pm. There are some weeks during the peak season (Jan / Feb) where practice ice can be challenging
In addition, the teams will have added skills nights scheduled separately from the practice schedule, and still held at Wallace Civic Center
UNIFORMS
All players are provided Game and Practice Jerseys and game socks.
Game socks are available for purchase, dependent upon availability - game socks are not allowed to be used during practice.

Can I Coach my Son / Daughter's team?
Thank you for your interest in coaching! We very much appreciate our volunteers, especially our Coaches. To be considered as a Head or Assistant Team Coach, complete the attached application and send via email to Coaches Director: jrfalconshc.coachrep@gmail.com. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Are there any extra charges I can expect during the season?
If teams decide to play tournaments, scrimmages or any additional team experiences (i.e. UMass Lowell / Boston College, misc Team Nights) those would be separate cost per player.
2026 / 2027 Season
All 26/27 season team offers have been sent via email. If you tried out for a team placement and did not receive an email, please email our Club Treasurer at: scheduler@jrfalcons.org
If you are interested in registering after tryouts have taken place in March, please complete the registration and also send an email to the Club Secretary at: admin26@jrfalcons.org.
The Mite division offers all players to rotate into the Goalie spot, we do not have a rostered spot for Goalies in this U8 Division.
